Smokery Update – March 27th

In these unusual times, we wanted you, our loyal customers, to be aware of a few changes to our system. 

  1. DELIVERIES Parcelforce is struggling at the moment and a number of our 24 hour next day parcels have been delivered in 48 hours. We are using more ice packs –  guaranteed by their makers to keep smoked fish and meat under the key temperature of 7c for 72 hours, to ensure your goodies are none the worse for wear.
  2. Starting NOW, we will only dispatch on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, effective immediately. Why? well,  a parcel sent by us tomorrow, Thursday, may not arrive on Friday – then probably not delivered ’til Monday – thus causing spoiled products, your frayed tempers and our receding and greying hairlines! Wednesday dispatch causes less angst all round.
  3. GRAVADLAX Our customers have gone mad for Gravadlax. We’re not complaining, but the demand has been such that we’ve temporarily exhausted supplies and the curing time for a batch is 72 hours. So, orders including Gravadlax will be dispatched early next week. 
  4. Anyone with orders due out today which do NOT contain Duck or Gravadlax can expect to receive them on Thursday or Friday.
